Sarver, PA (June 14, 2022) The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series visits Lernerville Speedway this Thursday – Saturday, June 23rd – 25th for the first time ever, with a record high purse and top prize in the ‘16th Annual Firecracker 100 Presented by Big River Steel’.

Thanks to Big River Steel, a new partner for the Firecracker event, ‘The Action Track’ will pay a record high purse of over $210,000, including $50,000 to the winner, at the 16th running of the Firecracker 100 weekend. This prestigious three-day racing tradition will now be the richest event of any kind ever held at the Lernerville Speedway.

Brandon Sheppard currently sits atop the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship Point Standings. Closing the gap over the last few race weekends, reigning Series Champion, Tim McCreadie is in the second position. Tyler Erb, Ricky Thornton Jr., and Earl Pearson Jr. round out the top five in series standings going into the prestigious Firecracker weekend.

Also on the card is the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Late Model Flynn’s Tire Touring Series who are competing for a record high $20,000 to-win in the ‘Bill Emig Memorial presented by Sunoco Race Fuels’. The winner will also take home a $5,000 custom designed championship diamond ring from D&V Jewelers boosting the winner’s take to $25,000!

‘He was a bear of man with a big soft heart,’ said RUSH Co-Director Vicki Emig, the daughter of Bill Emig.  ‘I think the hardest part of what I do today is knowing that my dad isn’t here to see what is truly his legacy, I was literally a baby when my dad started taking me to the races; my mom never liked racing so it was just him and I.’ Emig continued, ‘Imagine a young guy in his early 20’s bundling up his little girl and off to the races they would go.  Throughout all those years he fielded a car, he never once left me home!  I wish our RUSH drivers could have known Bill Emig, but more importantly, know without him, there would be no RUSH!’

Logan Roberson leads the way in the RUSH Touring Series Championship Point standings with Joe Martin in second. Brady Wonderling is third just ahead of Jeremy Wonderling and Breyton Santee who rounds out the top-five after seven 2022 events.

A full program of racing is scheduled each of the three nights including $6,000 to-win, 25-lap features for the stars of the Lucas Oil Series on both Thursday and Friday, with time trials for the RUSH Late Models on Thursday and RUSH heat races on Friday. Saturday will be highlighted by heat races (lineups determined by results on Thursday and Friday), B-Mains, the ‘Uncle Sam 30’ non-qualifiers race, and the $50,000 to-win ‘Firecracker 100’ for the Lucas Oil Series and B-Mains, non-qualifiers race, and the $20,000 to-win ‘Bill Emig Memorial’ for the RUSH Late Models.
